Nowadays globalization is being referred as flat world, thanks to Tom Friedman’s book The World Is Flat. The world is now well connected with technology developments in all areas which gives the power to collaborate better and produce and distribute new things. The collaboration is in various areas like intellectual, human resources, machines, etc.. The geographical differences does not stop development advances anymore. Yes, this is what has been referred as Global Village. But why the new term ‘flat world’? Frankly, I don’t understand!
I am sitting on the top of the rock in Kadalukanipara, I can see the Arabian sea to the West almost 20 kms away, the Hill stations to the East are also identifiable. I am connected to the internet from my Toshiba laptop using Reliance Mobile. I am writing the blog using the Blogger.com service hosted in USA by Google, the final pages are file transferred to my Ananthapuri.com domain hosted in New Jersey USA. While I write this blog entry, I am in Yahoo Chat Conference with two friends of mine – Jenna from Cape Town in South Africa and Shobhana from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. They are doing a leisure project for Ananthapuri.com which I program manage from Thiruvananthapuram. And the flat world goes like this…
